Impactful Living: Turning Purpose Into Action

“My intentions aren’t enough if there isn’t a number. Impact must be measurable,
or it fades like flowers on a countertop.”
– Christine Sandman Stone

“I want to be remembered as someone who made someone’s life better,
simply because I was in it.”
– Deborah Johnson

We are pleased to share the recap from our May Women’s Forum virtual program: Impactful Living: Turning Purpose into Action.  We are grateful to both Christine Sandman Stone, a servant leader in the corporate world, and Deborah Johnson, CFRE, a servant leader in the non-profit sector, for leading us through this program. Their personal stories and lived experiences offered inspiring insights and practical strategies to live a life of purpose and create meaningful impacts.

While each of us may define “impact” differently, what unites us is transforming our intentions into meaningful action by elevating, amplifying, and celebrating others, especially women.

  • Christine’s purpose was sparked by a conversation with her son, after which came her AHA moment and purpose – to help women grow their wealth. Christine has helped women achieve $126MM in additional compensation.
  • Deborah’s purpose is to do more, be more, and give more to serve others. A fire in her neighborhood at age seven, which left a family with nothing, served as a catalyst for her journey to serve others. Deborah has helped raise over $2MM in grants for grassroots non-profit organizations serving those most vulnerable.

Hear more from each of them in this replay.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

Lead by Example: It creates a generational effect for those at work and at home.

Leave a Legacy: Your legacy is not defined by grand gestures but by acts of influence, empowerment, and kindness.

Serve Others: Don’t underestimate the power of your time. When a woman asks for it, say YES – not for what you’ll get, but for how it may impact her life today and into the future.

ACTIONS

  • Reflect: What brings you meaning? What’s your corner of the world?
  • Multiply: Choose women-owned businesses for your services and suppliers. Join a giving circle to multiply your individual impact.
  • Measure: Track promotions, opportunities, grants, or lives you’ve touched.
  • Celebrate: Those creating meaningful legacies around you at work, in your networks or in the community.
