Key Program Takeaways
These nine science-based elements are essential for building and maintaining meaningful connections with others:
- Intentionality
- Proximity
- Connectivity
- Commonality
- Vulnerability
- Dependability
- Reciprocity
- Flexibility
- Positivity
Mindset Matters. Our mindset determines so much about how we come to the process of creating connections. If you have dating fatigue and you’re not in a positive mindset, it will impact how you see the people you are trying to connect with, and how they experience you – and not in good ways!
Cultivate Optimism. Reframe your mentality – it’s not an if but a when love comes to you. Love exists for every person who wants love, but we must take intentional steps to choose it. We are all worthy of love. Whether the pool is filled with potential partners, or if there is seems like the pool has sprung a leak and looks empty, stay on the journey because love can and will come to you if you seek it. Create a positive regular affirmation about what you seek, because we generally attract what we seek.
Pushing Through Fear. We’re all aware that there are no guarantees in life. But if we want to strengthen our relationships, establish new connections, or even meet that special someone who we’ll spend the rest of our lives with, it’s important to understand our fears so that we don’t sabotage our success and happiness. We must be willing to take small, manageable risks. Also, know your truth. Bless and release the negative people and stories that no longer serve you.
Heard, Helped, or Hugged. Be an active listener. Sometimes when someone is communicating with you, especially in a challenging situation, recognize that they may just want to vent, not be “fixed” or offered remedies. A good question is to ask them directly if they need to be “heard, helped, or hugged” in that moment.
