Understanding and Avoiding the Wage Gap

We’ve all heard of the wage gap. Most recently reported that women make $0.82 for every dollar that a man makes in a similar role. Adding to that, women miss out on many aspects of earning such as salary increases, bonuses, executive compensation opportunities, 401k and company match. The savings gap grows too leading to a wider wealth gap. All told, there’s a cumulative $1,055,000 lifetime average wealth gap between men and women at retirement age.
